“The Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit… Freely we have received…Freely give…” (Matthew 10:8)

To open the School Year 2016-2017, the Lourdes College community gathered in celebrating as one family the Holy Spirit Mass on Friday, June 24, 2016, at the school’s Auditorium. The eucharistic celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Raul Dael, SSJ.

Fr. Dael, in his homily, explained that the Holy Spirit moves within and around us. It is manifested in the joy of the heart on the choices that each makes. In studies and in life, everyone is called to be discerning where the “right place and time” of each should be. He then challenged everyone to be sensitive to the promptings of the spirit most especially in doing individual tasks such as studying.

During the celebration, the new elected Lourdes College Student Government (LCSG) was inducted before the presider.

Everyone joyfully sang the recessional song waving their dove-paper-cut gifts of the Holy Spirit. A paper-cut fruit of the Holy Spirit was also distributed as they took their exit of the venue.

The celebration was spirit-filled. The interactive homily of the priest challenged me to be more joyful in everything that I do. The animators, too, gave more life to the celebration.” exclaimed by Angel Osabel, a second year student of BSHRM. (Konica L. Ajet – BS Mass Communication student. )
