LC Community celebrates Holy Spirit Mass

For posting

The academic community of Lourdes College welcomed the School Year 2017-2018 by gathering as one family to celebrate the Holy Spirit Mass, presided by Rev. Fr. Froilan Briones, SSS last June 16, 2017, Friday in the school’s Auditorium.

Fr. Froilan explained in his homily the essence and the importance of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  “Being filled with the Holy Spirit produces a sense of peace and joy in the believer”, he added. He further shared that the fruit (i.e. harvest) of the Spirit is described as being joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The gifts of the Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and the fear of the Lord.

The students received the symbolic gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit in the form of cut-out doves and fruits.  These gifts and fruits will serve as a guide for the members of the community in their journey with Lourdes College in the upcoming months.

The annual Holy Spirit Mass was successful with the collaborative efforts of the administration, personnel, and the students. (Randy Louis Gabriel M. Tejada & Jovee Marie S. De Asis – Senior High School Students)
